about

Eivind Lorgen's career has been organized around a single conviction: that institutions that get the fundamentals right — capital architecture, governance structure, and accountability frameworks — outperform those that do not, across every market cycle.

institutional career

As CEO & President of Nordea Asset Management North America, he led the North American platform of one of Europe's largest and most innovative asset managers — actively managing more than $270 billion, with global leadership in multi-asset, responsible investment, and sustainable strategies. He worked directly with sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, insurance institutions, family offices, and nonprofit capital pools across North America and Europe.

Prior to Nordea, he served as Executive Managing Director at Zurich Insurance Group, where he gained deep experience in institutional risk, capital strategy, and cross-border governance across global markets.

standards innovative work

In 2016, he became a founding member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Investor Advisory Group — the body that would eventually become the Investor Advisory Board of the ISSB under the IFRS Foundation. He served as Chair of that board from 2020 to 2022, helping guide the consolidation of SASB and The Value Reporting Foundation into the IFRS Foundation and the formal establishment of the ISSB as the global baseline for sustainability disclosure. He remains Chair Emeritus and an active member of the IAG.

The ESG disclosure frameworks now in use by institutional investors ($50T AuM) worldwide were built, in part, through the work of this board during his tenure.

academic contribution & advisory work

He lectures on transition finance and capital strategy at IE University (New York) and the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business, where he is a member of the Reiman School of Finance Advisory Board and a recipient of the Reiman Distinguished Alumni Award (2016). He also lectures periodically at Columbia University and speaks regularly at institutional forums and industry conferences across North America and Europe.

He earned his BSBA and graduate degree from the University of Denver — where he also played varsity soccer — and holds executive management credentials from IMD (Switzerland) and London Business School.

today

He now consults with a select group of investment managers, boards, sponsors, and founders on fund platform development, governance architecture, capital strategy, and complex middle-market and infrastructure situations. He also advises nonprofit organizations on multilateral initiatives in labor mobility, climate-linked workforce development, and innovative financing structures.
